So is the HGTV Dream Home in a subdivision?  Is it on the way up to the peak?  I love New Mexico and never have been on that side of town expect to pass through on the way west on Hwy 40.  So is the area where the balloons are in October?  Do you think you can see it from the HGTV Dream Home??  That would be awesome for the winner if they can watch the Balloons from the house.

The HGTV house is in San Pedro Overlook which is located north east of Albuquerque behind the Sandia mountains.

Unfortunately, the mountains block the view of Albuquerque so you would not be able to see balloons from the house.

Next time you are in NM, you’ll have to turn north on highway 14 from I-40 to visit the Turquoise Trail!

After digging around last night I found the subdivision.  At least it is close to enjoy the Balloon Festival a short drive to town.  My grandkids love the balloons and went to the festival in 2009 after driving from Dallas.  It would be a great place to play with the kids and give them a place to stay while they enjoy the Balloon Festival.  Timing in my life would be perfect to be the winner of the HDTV home.  I love New Mexico and the home with the Casita is perfect for when my folks need to come and put their feet down after being snow bird (RVing across the country).  I will be graduating in May and looking for work so the move could not come at a better time!  We have always wanted to have a 2nd home in the mountains of Colorado but this would be a perfect 1st home (if we find work) and after work relax around the mountains giving us the feel of a 2nd home.  Best of ALL worlds!

Oh boy!  Hopefully by Jan. 21st, there will be public tours on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays of the HGTV Dream Home.  Buses will leave from the East Mountain High School.  More details as they become available.

That sounds like fun!  I wish I was closer to the area to come see in person.  In the mean time I will enjoy adding my name to the pool and hope and pray we win the lottery.    When you go in to enjoy it please give me feedback.
