The Museum of Encaustic Art’s permanent collection was started to archive an eclectic variety of styles and techniques in encaustic/wax art, and to further promote the medium.
The Museum, with over 450 works of art in its permanent collection has moved from our Santa Fe location to its original location – on the property of the founder, Douglas Mehrens. There are currently 124 pieces of encaustic/wax artwork showing in the new location.
2021 Hours: September – November: 11 am – 4 pm Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. December: open by appointment only (505-424-6487 or Mehrens@eainm.com).
2022 Hours: January: Closed. February & March: open by appointment only (505-424-6487 or Mehrens@eainm.com).
Admission fee: $10

The goal is to have the full collection also be shown in the Virtual Museum. (See the home page to find out more about the Virtual Museum). Plans are in the works now to make that vision a reality. The collection is on rotating display now in the Museum’s new location and is also available to view online until the Virtual Museum has come to fruition.
